দেবব্রত চক্রবর্তী ২০০৩ সালে বাংলাদেশ সিভিল সার্ভিস প্রশাসনে যোগদান করেন। বিগত বছরগুলোতে মাঠ-প্রশাসন, ঢাকাস্থ বিভিন্ন দপ্তর ও মন্ত্রণালয় এবং জেনেভায় বাংলাদেশ স্থায়ী মিশনে বিশ্ব বাণিজ্য সংস্থা (WTO)  এবং জাতিসংঘের বাণিজ্য ও উন্নয়ন সংগঠনে (UNCTAD) বাংলাদেশের প্রতিনিধি হিসেবে তাঁর কাজ করার সুযোগ হয়েছে। তাঁর কর্ম অভিজ্ঞতার মধ্যে রয়েছে ভূমি রাজস্ব ব্যবস্থাপনা, ফৌজদারি বিচার প্রশাসন, স্থানীয় সরকার, সিভিল সার্ভিস প্রশিক্ষণ নীতি, সিটিজেনস চার্টার ও সেবা প্রদান সহজকরণ, সুস্থায়ী উন্নয়ন অভীষ্টসমূহের (SDGs) প্রাসঙ্গিকীকরণ, বৈদেশিক বিনিয়োগ ও আন্তর্জাতিক সহযোগিতা, ইনটেলেকচুয়াল প্রপার্টি রাইটসসহ বাণিজ্য আইন এবং উপানুষ্ঠানিক শিক্ষা ব্যবস্থাপনা। এছাড়া সুস্থায়ী উন্নয়ন অভীষ্ট-৬ এর বৈশ্বিক কৌশল নির্ধারণের লক্ষ্যে জাতিসংঘ মহাসচিব কর্তৃক আহূত পানি বিষয়ক উচ্চ-পর্যায়ের প্যানেলের সহায়ক হিসেবে দুই বছর তিনি অতিরিক্ত দায়িত্ব পালন করেন।   

       

জনাব চক্রবর্তী হার্ভার্ড বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের কেনেডি স্কুল অফ গভর্নমেন্ট থেকে লোকপ্রশাসনে স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেন। তিনি স্বল্প ও দীর্ঘ মেয়াদি বিভিন্ন পেশাদার প্রশিক্ষণ কোর্স এবং একাডেমিক ডিগ্রির জন্য দেশ-বিদেশে বিভিন্ন প্রতিষ্ঠান ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে পড়াশোনা করেছেন।

Devabrata Chakraborty joined Bangladesh Civil Service Administration in 2003. During the past years he had the privilege of working for the district administration, several offices and Ministries in Dhaka and Bangladesh Permanent Mission in Geneva as representative of Bangladesh at the WTO and the UNCTAD. His work experience includes land revenue management, administration of criminal justice, local government, civil service training policy, citizen’s charter and service delivery simplification, contextualization of sustainable development goals (SDGs), foreign direct investment and international cooperation, trade laws including intellectual property rights and nonformal education management.  For two years’ additional assignmnet, he also assisted the UN High-Level Panel on Water convened by the UN Secretary General to develop global strategies on SDG 6.

 

Mr. Chakraborty graduated from Harvard University with a Master in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government. He also attended several institutions and universities home and abroad for short and long term professional training courses and academic degrees.
